This festival has been going annually since 1962. (The steam association that now sponsors it was established in 1971.) It is held in September from a Thursday through Sunday. It is usually held in the second week that all 4 of these days occur; that is, starting on the 2nd Thursday. For example, in 2018 it was held from Thursday the 13th to Sunday the 16th.
Although it is sponsored by a steam organization, and originally was mostly steam, the number of diesel, gasoline, kerosene, and propane gas powered pieces of equipment FAR outnumber the steam-powered pieces. The grounds for this festival are specifically for this festival, not a general purpose fair grounds.

The fee below was valid in 2017 and 2018 for adults. Children 12 and under are free. (You wouldn't believe how many small children are driving large tractors at this festival!)
