Leading up to the Southwest Florida Vietnam War Memorial are a single set of footprints of the style of boots soldiers used in Vietnam. These particular boots were known a jungle boots due to the wet and humid conditions in the jungles of Southeast Asia.

The addition of these bootprints in the walkway leading up to the memorial add a degree of somberness and reverence.
