In Newbury, along High Street, is the Coffin House.

The Coffin House is on the west side of High Street, at the northern end of the burial grounds and a couple lots away from the white clapboard church.

The house, today, is owned and operated by Historic New England. It is open for tours, which are on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The web site for Historic New England has a description. It was built (according to the site) in 1678 by the Coffins. In 1712, the house was doubled in size to accommodate a son and his family. In 1758, the house was made into two separate living units.
