NCC Beaver Trail - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - Scenic Hikes on Waymarking.com

Stony Swamp is a network of Beaver Ponds, wetlands, and forests with boardwalks and interpretive exhibits on its geology and natural history. It also houses a Wild Bird Care Centre. There are over 40 kilometers of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

At waypoint 1 is the Wild Bird Care Centre - you never know what species you're likely to find here.

At waypoint 2 is a large beaver pond where from year to year you can find one or several beaver lodges.

Anywhere else along this trail you could see deer, coyotes, porcupines, herons, beavers or any number of other examples of the local flora and fauna.
