Der 'König-Albert-Brunnen' vor dem historischen Rathaus in Plauen.
Der König-Albert-Brunnen auf dem Altmarkt in Plauen ist ein Kunstwerk des Bildhauers Norbert Marten, das im Jahre 2007 aufgestellt wurde. Es handelt sich um einen der wenigen zeitgenössischen Brunnen, der einen Bezug zur deutschen Geschichte über exakt hundert Jahre herstellt (1907–2007).
In Anlehnung an das „Königsspiel“ befindet sich auf einem Brunnentisch aus Granit eine Art Schachbrett aus Bronze, auf der sich vier Figuren positionieren.
Zwei Könige, in Bronze gegossen, stehen rechts und links außerhalb der Plattformen. Es sind sitzende Figuren, gesockelt - als Zeichen der Wertschätzung - in unterschiedlichen Höhen. Der größere König wird als „König Albert“ definiert (Höhe ca. 2,5 m). Der andere König zeigt eine Identifikationsfigur, die als Hans Löwel gedeutet werden kann (Höhe ca. 2 m).

The King Albert Fountain on the Altmarkt in Plauen is a work of art by the sculptor Norbert Marten, which was erected in 2007. It is one of the few contemporary fountains that relates to German history for exactly one hundred years (1907-2007).
Based on the "royal game" is located on a granite fountain table a kind of chessboard made of bronze, on which four figures position themselves.
Two kings, cast in bronze, stand right and left outside the platforms. They are sedentary figures, capped - as a token of esteem - at different heights. The larger king is defined as "King Albert" (height about 2.5 m). The other king shows an identification figure, which can be interpreted as Hans Löwel (height about 2 m).
