About a mile north of Almira, the benchmark is on the west side of Old Coulee Road, which leads up to Grand Coulee.

As stated below, the benchmark was near a wire fence when monumented, but that fence has been removed, leaving the benchmark barely a foot from the edge of the planted field. There is now an orange and white witness post either side of the disk. None of the reference marks were found. There is a good chance that the field has been expanded, destroying the markers.

THE STATION IS LOCATED ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF STATE HIGHWAY 2. IT IS ABOUT 1 MILE AIRLINE NORTH OF ALMIRA.

THE STATION IS 27 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 2, 2 FEET EAST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND 4 FEET SOUTH OF A WHITE WITNESS POST. IT IS A STANDARD BENCH MARK DISK SET IN THE TOP OF AN 8-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 4 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. THE DISK IS STAMPED--L 71 1935.

REFERENCE MARK NUMBER ONE IS 29 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 2-1/2 FEET WEST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND 2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A TELEPHONE POLE. IT IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN THE TOP OF A 10-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 2 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. THE DISK IS STAMPED--BM L 71 NO 1 1950.

REFERENCE MARK NUMBER TWO IS 26 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 2 FEET EAST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND 1 FOOT NORTHEAST OF A POWER LINE POLE. IT IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN THE TOP OF A 10-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 3 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. THE DISK IS STAMPED--BM L 71 NO 2 1950.

THE AZIMUTH MARK IS 24 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A GRAVEL ROAD, 65 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 2, 2-1/2 FEET WEST OF A WIRE FENCE, AND 3 FEET NORTHWEST OF A TELEPHONE POLE. IT IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN THE TOP OF A 10-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 2 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. THE DISK IS STAMPED--BM L 71 1950. TO REACH THE MARK FROM THE STATION GO SOUTH ON STATE HIGHWAY 2 FOR 0.45 MILE TO A GRAVEL ROAD FORK TO THE LEFT, STRAIGHT AHEAD, AND THE MARK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GRAVEL ROAD AS DESCRIBED.
