Na de verwoestingen van de Eerste Wereldoorlog is Ieper volledig herbouwd. Het Notre-Dame-ziekenhuis in de Korte Torhoutstraat, gebouwd in 1187, werd volledig verwoest door bombardementen. Het portaal met het epigraf "Hôpital Notre-Dame" is momenteel de enige getuige van het oude ziekenhuis. In plaats daarvan werd een gerechtsgebouw, een neogotische stijl met elementen van de Vlaamse Renaissance, gebouwd in de jaren '20.
De omringende muur van het oude ziekenhuis is herbouwd in een eclectische stijl met trumeaux en neorenaissancistische ornamenten. De centrale poort roept de Rococo-stijl op.
Het gerechtsgebouw werd gebouwd in gele baksteen. Voor de basis werd Arras zandsteen gebruikt. Voor het portaal werden de kozijnen, de drempels, de dripstones en de sculpturen, de kunststeen en / of natuursteen (gehouwen steen en Euville-steen) gebruikt.

After the ravages of the First World War, Ypres has been completely rebuilt. The Notre-Dame Hospital in Korte Torhoutstraat, built in 1187, was completely destroyed by bombing. The portal bearing the epigraph "Hôpital Notre-Dame" is currently the only witness of the old hospital. In its place, a courthouse, neogothic style with elements of the Flemish Renaissance, was built in the 20s.
The surrounding wall of the old hospital has been rebuilt in an eclectic style with trumeaux and neo-Renaissance ornaments. The central portal evokes the Rococo style.
The courthouse was built in yellow brick. For the base, Arras sandstone was used. For the portal, the frames, the sills, the dripstones and the sculptures, the imitation stone and / or natural stone (cut stone and Euville stone) was used.

Après les ravages causés par la Première Guerre mondiale, Ypres a été entièrement reconstruite. L’hôpital Notre-Dame situé dans la Korte Torhoutstraat, construit en 1187, a été complètement rasé par les bombardements. Le portail portant l'épigraphe « Hôpital Notre-Dame » est actuellement le seul témoin de l'ancien hôpital. A sa place, un palais de justice, de style néogothique avec des éléments de la Renaissance flamande, fut édifié dans les années 20.
Le mur d'enceinte de l’ancien hôpital a été reconstruit dans un style éclectique comprenant des trumeaux et des ornements néo-Renaissance. Le portail central évoque le style rococo.
Le palais de justice a été construit en briques jaunes. Pour le socle, du grès d’Arras a été utilisé. Pour le portail, les châssis, les seuils, les larmiers et les sculptures, de la pierre simili et/ou naturelle (pierre de taille et pierre d’Euville) a été utilisée.
