[FR] Le balisage des chemins est matérialisé par des bornes contemporaines similaires à celles qui existaient à l’époque de saint Martin (4ème siècle) le long des voies romaines (bornes milliaires). Leur forme s’inspire de bornes du Doyenné de Saint-Martin, que l’on trouve à Betz-le-Château, Indre-et-Loire. Elles y furent placées en 1565 pour indiquer la limite des parcelles des forêts appartenant au
Chapitre de Saint-Martin-de-Tours. Sur l’une d’entre elles, on voit inscrites les lettres D St M, qui correspondent au Doyenné de Saint-Martin.

[EN]Road markings are marked by contemporary monuments similar to those that existed during the time of St Martin (4th century) along the Roman roads (milestones). Their form is inspired by the boundaries of the Doyenné de Saint-Martin, found in Betz-le-Château, Indre-et-Loire. They were placed there in 1565 to indicate the boundary of the parcels of forests belonging to the
Chapter of Saint-Martin-de-Tours. On one of them, we see inscribed the letters D St M, which correspond to the Deanery of St. Martin.
