On an irregular pink-brown boulder near the car park for the Mother of Ducks Lagoon, is a bronze tablet for the opening of it in 1988. It reads:

[Logo]	Guyra Shire Bicentennial
	Community Committee
1788-1988	--------
This plaque was unveiled on the 12th November, 1988 by
Mr Peter Arnold
Executive Director, New South Wales Bicentennial Council
	--------
To commemorate the Official Opening of the
MOTHER OF DUCKS LAGOON
RESTORATION AND
BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
	--------
A Joint Project in association with
the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service

Chairperson - Mrs A. Woods Secretary - Mr. R. Robertson
Project Officer - Mr P. Rose	Architect - Figgis & Jefferson

While the "Australian Bicentennial Authority Act" does specify Peter Arnold as the Executive Director, for the NSW Office of the Bicentenary State Offices [Page 14 & 15 Peter Arnold ], it seems that it is a common name, as the only other appropriate 'official' mention found online is for a politician, from 1968, to 1993; BUT, in the South Australian House of Assembly - Wiki: Peter Arnold

From the National Parks website:
"Located on the edge of Guyra, 37km north of Armidale, Mother of Ducks Lagoon Nature Reserve offers a special birdwatching experience.

"The reserve is a rare breeding place for several freshwater wetland bird species and a resting place for numerous migratory birds. Plan a visit or stop over while driving through the northern tablelands."
