Winthrop Square - Boston, MA - Building Buildings on Waymarking.com

In Boston's Financial District, along Federal Street, is construction activity where the Winthrop Square Tower will be built.

The location is between High Street and Franklin Street, on the west side of the road and across the street from the Bank America Building. The site at present is a large heap of reinforced concrete, with cranes and jackhammers taking out the rest.

In its place will be a tower currently planned as a mixed use building that will tower over its neighbors. The original height proposed was 775 ft. However, concerns about the federal airspace and concerns about its shadow reaching Boston Common, the height was reduced to 702 ft, then the present proposed height of 691 ft and 52 stories. Millenium Partners is building this building.
