En 1982, le Seigneur mettait dans le cœur d’une quinzaine de familles issues de la Grande Maison à Laval (fruit du travail d’un missionnaire évangélique américain, Bill Wolitarsky), d’établir une assemblée locale dans la région qui s’appelait alors Lachenaie, Mascouche et Terrebonne. C’est donc ainsi qu’a été fondée l’Assemblée Chrétienne Lamater, en septembre 1982. À cette époque, Thomas Paul, soutenu par son épouse Sylvia, était l’ouvrier-enseignant à temps plein.

Au cours des premières années l’église a connu une période nomade, alors que les frères et sœurs utilisaient des locaux prêtés ou loués. Une quinzaine d’emplacements différents, dont plusieurs écoles de la région, ont ainsi été utilisés pour le culte du dimanche. Puis, en 1986, après de nombreuses prières, lettres et recherches, un terrain a été obtenu pour construire l’église actuelle, au 60, boul. J.-S.-Archambault, sur l’Île Saint-Jean.

En 1993, à la suite du départ de Tom Paul et de son épouse, un nouvel ouvrier pastoral, Gerry Kraemer, soutenu par son épouse Kathy, est devenu l’ouvrier-enseignant à temps plein.

En 2009, le nom de l’église a été changé pour l’Église chrétienne évangélique des Moulins, afin de mieux refléter le nom de la région.

À la fin de 2010, François Boudreau, soutenu par son épouse Claudia, est devenu le nouveau pasteur de l’église.

Aujourd’hui, environ 80 adultes et 35 enfants et ados fréquentent l’église. L’équipe pastorale, se basant sur les principes de la Parole de Dieu, assume la direction sur le plan spirituel. Elle est soutenue par une équipe de diacres qui s’occupe de l’administration financière et pratique de la vie de l’assemblée.

In 1982, the Lord put in the heart of fifteen families from the Grande Maison in Laval (fruit of the work of an American evangelical missionary, Bill Wolitarsky), to establish a local assembly in the region called then Lachenaie, Mascouche and Terrebonne. This is how the Lamater Christian Assembly was founded in September 1982. At that time, Thomas Paul, supported by his wife Sylvia, was the full-time teacher-laborer.

 

In the early years the church went through a nomadic period, while the brothers and sisters used premises lent or rented. About fifteen different locations, including several schools in the region, have been used for Sunday worship. Then, in 1986, after many prayers, letters and research, a lot was obtained to build the current church, at 60, boul. J.-S.-Archambault, on Île Saint-Jean.

In 1993, following the departure of Tom Paul and his wife, a new pastoral worker, Gerry Kraemer, supported by his wife Kathy, became the full-time teacher-laborer.

In 2009, the name of the church was changed to the Evangelical Christian Church of the Mills, to better reflect the name of the region.

At the end of 2010, François Boudreau, supported by his wife Claudia, became the new pastor of the church.

Today, about 80 adults and 35 children and teenagers attend the church. The pastoral team, based on the principles of the Word of God, assumes the direction on the spiritual plane. She is supported by a team of deacons who take care of the financial and practical administration of the life of the assembly.
