The mural, done in 1998 by artist Brad Smith, was fading into nothingness until an effort to revive it.

In 2011 artist Stephen Williams brought back to life characters that had begun to disappear.

The mural is a depiction of the former Carnegie Library, which sat near where the current library is now located.
