Nach dem verheerendem Hochwasser von Pfingsten 1999 wurde der Hochwasserschutz im Bereich der Unterstadt von Wangen ausgebaut.
Zur Erinnerung an diese Katastrophe wurde im Argenpark die Hochwasserente aufgestellt.
Auf einem Sockel mit Inschrift, in dem Fische eingearbeitet sind, steht die Plastik einer Ente die in einigen Teilen beweglich ist.
Diese Skulptur mit den beweglichen Gelenken wurde wie auch der Amtschimmelbrunnen von dem Aachener Bildhauer Bonifatius Stirnberg erstellt

After the devastating flood of Pentecost in 1999, the flood protection in the area of the lower town of Wangen was expanded.
To commemorate this catastrophe, the flood duck was set up in the Argenpark.
On a base with inscription, in which fish are incorporated, stands the plastic of a duck which is movable in some parts.
This sculpture with the movable joints was created by the Aachen sculptor Boniface Stirnberg as well as the Amtschimmelbrunnen
