After snow was unreliably cleared during the harsh winter of 2009/2010 and not enough salt was scattered over ice, the litter services were reorganized. Here, the city cleaning will also take over the coordination of the previously district service to scatter the so-called residential-free walkways. These are the sidewalks, where no landowners are responsible such as footpaths in front of playgrounds, parks and on bridges.
For this purpose, 50 scattered silos were distributed throughout the city.
The silos are made of wood. Their base area is 1.70 meters by 2.40 meters. They stand on pillars and are four to five meters high.
