The first placed plaque is for the erection of the Soundshell in 1988 as a Bicentenary Project of the Rotary Club of Bright. Not long after Bright Chapter of Rotary started in 1959 a forward looking plan planted pine trees in one of the parks in Bright with the expectation to harvest them as part of fund raising.

In 1987 they were harvested under the direction of the Club President, Ron Sibley, to fund the building of the Bright Soundshell, in time for Australia's Bicentenary celebrations. This being acknowledged by the plaque near the centre of the stage, above the electrical distribution box, and above the painted mural of a fish being caught.

Ron and his wife, June, were leaders and organisers of many of the Christmas Carols held in Centenary Park, using the Soundshell as a good stage.

The second plaque acknowledges the naming of the Bright Soundshell, to be known as "Sibley Soundshell", at 26 June, 2003; for their contribution to the entertainment at this venue. [Some info gleaned from the "Rotary Club of Bright: a Celebration of 50 years" pdf document: (visit link) ]
