In grassy Centenary Park, looking to the Ovens River is this wooden bench, dedicated to Alex & Eve Hofbauer.

The wooden back rest is made of two different width planks of wood, with the etched bronze screwed to the upper, broader plank. The sign reads:

"In Memory of
Alex & Eve Hofbauer
Cherter Members of Bright
Lions who gave 35 yrs of
dedicated service.
"A place they loved, forever in our thoughts"

The couple who had been enjoying the view and rest were walking the park, and left their 'throw-rug' on it.
