Four of the men mentioned on this monument for the 'Great War', are also on the Broken Column monument at Ensay [Moir, Baylis, Fregon, and 'Hollonds'].
This is a grey granite, 2 metre tall Broken Column, set on a 1.5 metre high rectangular granite faced mid-base, with a further roughly faced stone block as the base. There are two hewn stone steps leading up to it in a square formation surrounding it, with four stone bollards, metal pipe railing surrounding the Memorial in a square, with some roses planted beneath the railings. This is on the centre median strip of quite McMillan(s) Street, just to the east from Great Alpine Road (aka Moe Highway).
It enumerates the locals that went to action in 'the Great War' (WW1) and World War Two and were killed - thus cutting short their lives.
Two of the upper faces have details for, respectively, the Great War, and World War II; while the other two upper faces remained blank. Of the lower beveled faces, only the western has anything engraved on it - below the Great War tribute - explaining its origin.
