On display on the west side of Park Drive, just south of Highway 70 is this Baldwin steam locomotive, and its coal car and lumber hauler. It is located behind an iron fence. A bronze plaque nearby gives its history.

The plaque reads CITY OF BROKEN BOW and lists the mayor and other city officials, and gives the history of this locomotive. It reads: "Baldwin steam locomotive 227 / Mikado type / Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1927 in accordance with specifications of Dierks Lumber and Coal Company. Originally burned coal, but was later converted to oil. In service from 1927 until 1963 as a freight, passenger and log train on the DeQueen and Eastern Railroad and the Texas, Oklahoma and Eastern Railroads for Dierks Lumber and Coal Co. (later Dierks Forests, Inc.) and Weyerhaeuser Company. Retired from service in 1963. Donated to the City of Broken Bow in 1972 to be put on display as an example of the early culture and history of Broken Bow and the surrounding area."
