A blue US Government battle tablet at Craven's House explains the contributions of Williamson's Brigade to the larger battle of Lookout Mountain, outside of Chattanooga TN.

This tablet is located near the Iowa Monument, and reads as follows:

"WILLIAMSON’S BRIGADE

Osterhaus’ Division- Blair’s Corps
Col. James A. Williamson
Nov. 24th 1863
4th Iowa – Lieut. Col. George Burton
9th Iowa - Col. David Carskadoon
25th Iowa – Col. George A. Stone
26th Iowa – Col. Milo Smith
30th Iowa – Lieut. Col. Aurelius Roberts
31st Iowa – Lieut. Col. Jeremiah W. Jenkins

This brigade, the left of Osterhaus’ division, supported the batteries on the hills west of the bridges near the mouth of Lookout Creek, until Woods’ brigade had crossed further up the stream and move down on the flank of the enemy’s position, when Gen. Williamson then crossed with the 26th and 31st Iowa and assisted in the capture of a large portion of the Confederate picket force. The 26th Iowa was sent by Gen. Hooker to support the movement along the road over the river bluff, and the 31st Iowa marched directly to the Cravens house and assisted the troops engaged there. The 9th and 26th Iowa soon joined at that point. The 4th Iowa, with the thirteenth Illinois woods brigade, had already arrived Geary’s position, having been relieved from their support of the batteries. The 30th Iowa ascended the mountain toward night, and it 8 p.m., reported to General Geary and relieved the 28th Pennsylvania on his right near the foot of the palisades. The 25th Iowa was retained with the batteries in Lookout Valley."
