This stone and frame building has been beautifully restored and currently houses the Seminole Nation Museum.

This is a one-story native stone and frame building with a crossed gable roof constructed by the WPA in 1937. The building is now L-shaped, but the north wing was added in later years. The construction of the wing is so close to the original, you would be hard pressed to see the addition. Two original (now three), small gables on the facade, have cedar plank upper walls. A gable on the south side is similar. The windows are metal-framed, multi-pane units, with brick sills and heavy wood lintels.
The entrance consists of a glazed door and two large windows, recessed under a porch roof, with three cedar arches. Stepping into the lobby area, there is a floor to ceiling double-sided fireplace, with the floor being the original basket weave wood design (see gallery).
The building houses the Seminole Nation Museum, and has wonderful displays of photos, clothing and memorabilia from the early days of the Nation in Oklahoma. The north wing has a typical town exhibit.
This building is well worth your visit. It has been beautifully restored and maintained, and has a wealth of history to see and experience.
