[FR] Cette base entièrement souterraine située à Landrethun-le-Nord, au lieu-dit Mimoyecques, devait servir à l'installation du canon V3. Comme toutes les armes de représailles, le V3 devait bombarder l'Angleterre et inverser le cours de la seconde Guerre mondiale. Le site fut frappé par la Royal Air Force le 6 juillet 1944, avec notamment les bombes géantes "Tallboy", mettant fin à une menace majeure pour Londres et les Alliés.
Creusée dans le massif crayeux du nord Boulonnais, la Forteresse de Mimoyecques se compose de 600m de galeries ouverts au public du 15 avril au 15 octobre.
[EN] Located a few kilometres away from the site of "Deux-Caps", at Landrethun-le-Nord, a place called "Mimoyecques", this secret base was expected V3 super gun. Like other V-weapons, the V3 was designed to bomb England, especially London. The site was shelled by the Royal Air Force, on July 6th 1944 with Tallboy bombs, wich put an end to the terrible threart for Londoners.
Dug into the chalk landscape of the North of the "Boulonnais", the Fortress of Mimoyecques is not only a Mémorial but also a remarquable protected site in the Hauts-de-France territory.
All about 600m of galerirs open to the public and the historique opening times from 15 April to 15 October. Open daily, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
