"Mis à l'eau à Saint-Malo, en 1746, le bateau corsaire Alcide connut plusieurs campagnes fructueuses en écumant la Manche et les côtes anglaises. C'est une violente tempête qui aura raison de lui. Le 23 décembre 1747, le navire tente de rejoindre Morlaix mais rencontre des rochers au nord du château du Taureau. Le naufrage fait plus d'une centaine de victimes.
Une exposition permanente autour de : "Le naufrage de l’Alcide", corsaire malouin naufragé à Carantec en 1747." se trouve au musée de la marine de Carantec, ainsi qu'un canon appartenant au bateau."

A permanent exhibition around "The sinking of the Alcide", a Malouin corsair shipwrecked at Carantec in 1747. "is at the Carantec Marine Museum, as well as a cannon belonging to the ship."
