"Mis à l'eau à Saint-Malo, en 1746, le bateau corsaire Alcide connut plusieurs campagnes fructueuses en écumant la Manche et les côtes anglaises. C'est une violente tempête qui aura raison de lui. Le samedi 23 décembre 1747, vers 3 h de l'après-midi, le corsaire malouin heurte un rocher « La Malouine » à une demi-lieue au nord-ouest du château du Taureau. Le navire se couche, s'enfonce, s'emplit d'eau en deux minutes. Il tire deux coups de canon et s'abat sur le flanc nord. De ce naufrage, sur 214 hommes d'équipage, une centaine seulement sera sauvée et le capitaine Ribard périra avec son bateau.
Une exposition permanente autour de : "Le naufrage de l’Alcide", corsaire malouin naufragé à Carantec en 1747." se trouve au musée de la marine de Carantec, ainsi qu'un canon appartenant au bateau."
