FR Le pont
Le pont de la Reine Jeanne fut construit au XVI° siècle dans le lit du Vançon, au pied des gorges de Charenches dans le département français des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Sur la commune d'Entrepierres, il franchit le Vançon et permet de relier les hameaux de Saint-Symphorien et de Vilhosc.

Il possède une seule arche segmentaire à double archivolte renforcé par un avant-bec chaperonné et s'appuie sur la roche de chaque côté au point le plus étroit du torrent. Il succéda à un vieux pont qui constituait une draille pour le passage des animaux.

L'édifice est inscrit au titre des monuments historiques par arrêté du 3 novembre 1987

La Reine Jeanne
La reine Jeanne est née à Naples en 1326 et fut reine de Sicile et de Provence de 1343 à 1382.
Elle vint en Provence en 1379 afin de raffermir son autorité chancelante et car elle est pourchassée par Louis de Hongrie depuis l'assassinat de son premier mari (elle l'aurait fait assassiner en 1345)

Séjournant au château seigneurial de Salignac, la reine Jeanne y accoucha d'un fils illégitime qu'elle cacha au village retiré de Saint-Symphorien dont elle acheta la discrétion des habitants en les déchargeant du droit d'albergue et de cavalcade et en répondant favorablement à la demande des consuls pour la construction d'un pont.
EN The Place
The bridge of the Queen Jeanne was built in the XVI century in the bed of the Vançon, at the foot of the gorges of Charenches in the French department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. On the commune of Entrepierres, it crosses the Vançon and allows to connect the hamlets of Saint-Symphorien and Vilhosc.

It has a single arch arched with a double archivolt reinforced by a chaperoned forepeak and rests on the rock on each side at the narrowest point of the torrent. He succeeded an old bridge, which formed a draille for the passage of animals.

The building is listed under Historic Monuments by Order of 3 November 1987

The Person
Queen Jeanne was born in Naples in 1326 and was Queen of Sicily and Provence from 1343 to 1382.

She came to Provence in 1379 to strengthen her faltering authority and because she was persecuted by Louis of Hungary since the assassination of her first husband (she would have had her assassinated in 1345) Staying at the seigniorial castle of Salignac, Queen Jeanne gave birth to an illegitimate son, whom she hid in the remote village of Saint-Symphorien, from which she bought the discretion of the inhabitants, discharging them the right of albergue and cavalcade and responding favorably At the request of the consuls for the construction of a bridge.
