Marine Heritage Coast - Mural - Painted by Primary School Children. The colourful mural covers the entire inside of the shelter, including the roof, of a large rain shelter, over 30 feet long & 10 feet high.
The age related artwork features local Land & Sea coastal features, including marine life.
To the left, 4 small panels featuring local sea creatures, including a Dolphin, then a view from the beach of New Quay Village above on the hillside.
The Center of the Mural shows, The Sea, small boats, a large Ship, & Sun rise.
The roof is painted as if looking up from underwater, showing fish, & what appears to be the bottom of a boat.
To the right, a Sea view showing shellfish, yachts, Dolphin, & Whales.
To the extreme right at the shelter entrance, 4 more small panels taking a swipe at litter & plastic waste, showing bottles, & plastic bags.
A handwritten plaque gives details of the schools involved & the Mural Title. in Welsh, translates to "
Marine Heritage Coast"
The rain shelter is located alongside the footpath which leads to New Quay Beach.

"The section between New Quay and Tresaith was later established as a ‘Marine Heritage Coast’ – a community initiative aimed at conserving the area’s special marine wildlife, including the Bottlenose Dolphin. Since then, the local community and the County Council have been working in partnership to help conserve the special character of the Marine Heritage Coast.
