This stone bridge, 155 meters long, spans the Cèze at the foot of the beautiful village of La Roque-sur-Cèze.

Consisting of 12 bays, it is particularly narrow and allows the passage of a single way of circulation on the departmental 166.

Its date of construction is unknown. If for some it would go back to the 12th century, it is more likely that the bridge we see today dates from the 14th century.

Its name, Charles-Martel, remains today a mystery because there does not seem to be any relationship between this Mayor of the 8th century Palace famous for having won the Battle of Poitiers in 732 and the valley of the Cèze.

In September 2002, this old bridge suffered enormously from a violent flood of the Cèze.
