The Tonkawa municipal water tower is right in the middle of the downtown area.

This is an older type conical water tower, constructed of steel, with a domed top. It stands on four metal legs and can be seen peeking out above the downtown buildings. It is located just east of Main Street on Tonkawa Avenue.
"Welcome to Tonkawa" has been painted on the tank, but it has faded and is only a ghost at this time. A clearer painting on the tank reads: "2003 State Basketball Champions".
