The last steel beam was placed on the Salesforce Tower on April 06, 2017, making it the tallest occupiable building west of Chicago. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the structural phase.

Even though it's still under construction, it has been dominating the San Francisco skyline for quite some time. The tower at Mission and 1st streets has been under construction for four years.

The tower is expected to be completed in 2018 and will have 61 floors, with a decorative crown reaching 1,070 ft (326 m).

Salesforce Tower's first appearance in film was the 2014 animated movie Big Hero 6. Although Salesforce Tower was still under construction when the film was released, it appeared in the film as a completed tower.

Our last picture was taken at the Hilton 46th floor Cityscape Lounge. The Salesforce Tower, to the right, is dominating the skyline.
