"Rhein in Flammen" ist ein Großfeuerwerk, das jährlich zeitlich versetzt an verschiedenen Orten entlang des Mittelrheins gezündet wird. Es findet seit 1986 jedes Jahr am ersten Samstag im Mai statt und startet in Linz. Den Abschluss findet die Veranstaltung im Hauptfeuerwerk, das von Schiffen an der Bonner Rheinaue aus gezündet wird. Begleitet wird das Spektakel von einem Konvoi aus Ausflugsschiffen, deren Gäste so alle Feuerwerke sehen können. Karten für die Schiffe sind z.T. bereits jahrelang vorher ausverkauft.

Wer lieber an Land bleiben will, kann das Hauptfeuerwerk von der Bonner Rheinaue aus betrachten. Dort wird die Veranstaltung mit einem Jahrmarkt kombiniert, der den ganzen Tag lang für Unterhaltung sorgt. Abends gegen ca. 23:30 kommt dann der Schiffskonvoi an der Rheinaue an und das Hauptfeuerwerk wird gezündet. Von den Wiesen und Hügeln in der Rheinaue aus hat man eine gute Aussicht auf das Feuerwerk.

2023 wurde das Konzept von Rhein in Flammen etwas geändert: Die anderen Städte am Rhein außer Bonn beteiligen sich nicht mehr an der Veranstaltung, bzw. machen ihre eigenen Termine. Somit ist an dem Termin im Mai jetzt nur noch in der Rheinaue das Feuerwerk. Dafür wurde das Angebot in der Rheinaue jetzt zu einem Festival ausgebaut. Neben Jahrmarktsattraktionen wird jetzt auch auf drei Bühnen Live-Musik von verschiedenen, bekannten Bands dargeboten bevor das musik-synchrone Feuerwerk am Abend gezündet wird.
"Rhein in Flammen" (German for "Rhine on fire") is a large fireworks, which is ignited annually time-delayed at different locations along the middle of the river Rhine. It has been held since 1986 every year on the first Saturday in May and starts in Linz. The event will be concluded in the main fireworks, which will be ignited from ships at the Rheinaue in Bonn. The spectacle is accompanied by a convoy of excursion boats whose guests can see all the fireworks. Tickets for the ships are partially already sold out in years.

Those who prefer to stay on land can look at the main fireworks from the park Rheinaue in Bonn. There the event is combined with a fair, which provides entertainment all day long. In the evening, at about 23:30, the ship's convoy arrives at the Rheinaue and the main fireworks are ignited. From the meadows and hills in the Rheinaue you have a good view of the fireworks.

In 2023, the concept of Rhein in Flammen was changed somewhat: The other cities on the Rhine apart from Bonn no longer take part in the event or make their own appointments. Thus, on the date in May, the fireworks are only in the Rheinaue. However, the event in the Rheinaue has been expanded into a festival. In addition to fairground attractions, live music from various well-known bands is now performed on three stages before the music-synchronous fireworks display is ignited in the evening.
