Seaside Heights shares it's boardwalk with Seaside Park to the south. Seaside Heights has long been a rowdy vacation destination. Many people rent homes in the area for the season or a month.
The beach has fine white sand and the water is usually fairly warm with mild to heavy wave action. Most of the action occurs between the two amusement piers at either end, but if one goes north of Casino Pier, the beach (and Boardwalk) is much quieter. South of the Funtime Pier is Seaside Park. The Boardwalk offers all kinds of rides, arcades, games of chance, shops, restaurants and bars, miniature golf, AND it is a bookcrossing zone.
