Abraham Freiherr von Oppenheim was a banker in Cologne. The bought the castle in Bassenheim in the 19th century. He renewed that building and was a big benefector of the municiplity of Bassenheim. His wife Charlotte found a hospital and a kindergarten in Bassenheim. Both are buried in the Mausoleum which is placed in the park of the castle.
This park is on private ground but the mausoleum can be seen from the outside. Near to it is the 'Oppenheim-installation'. There a plaque informs about the work of the Oppenheims in Bassenheim.
Visiting Hours/Restrictions:
Oppenheim installation at named coordinates: 24 / 7.
The park itself can not be visited, but the mausoleum placed direct to the wall sorrunding the park and can be seen from the installation.
