The pub has a hanging sign that depicts the Sutherland Coat of Arms on a black background. The name of the pub is above and Traditional Free House written underneath in white lettering.

This is a fairly new sign as google maps street view 2016 shows a portrait of George Leveson Gower 1st Duke of Sutherland on the sign.

This pub was in severe decline until being bought at auction a few years back;since then, dramatic changes have taken place. Having being refurbished to a very high standard, this open-plan pub still retains a multi-room feel with a distinct bar area, a games section, and a lounge-type space. (visit link)
