Baille-Maille-Lindenallee

The first Lindenallee was built between 1662 and 1663 during the reign of Markgraf Christian Ernst. The avenue was part of the changes that would make a hunting castle of the Margraves from the former monastery of Himmelkron. They played Paille-Maille, a pistol or running game. There were similar avenues of many castles at that time. The avenue in Himmelkron was famous in its time and was described as the longest and most beautiful in Europe. Markgräfin Wilhelmine mentioned her in her memoirs. In 1792 it was cleared of the resistance of the population of Prussian soldiers to restore the state budget.

On 17 October 1986 160 trees were planted again. On April 28, 1992, President Dr. Erich Haniel planted the last linden tree to commemorate deforestation 200 years ago.

Am 17. Oktober 1986 wurden wieder 160 Bäume angepflanzt. Am 28. April 1992 pflanzte Regierungspräsident Dr. Erich Haniel die letzte Linde zum Gedenken an die Abholzung vor 200 Jahren.
