"It took four men, seven weeks (more or less) to complete. The paint and materials alone cost around $1500.00. The City of Navasota played no part in the creation or the financing of this project. The Blues Alley mural was completed with private money paid for by Bert Miller and considerable labor donations by the artists." (visit link)

This mural was the brainchild of Russell Cushman of Navasota. Russell wanted to do a fitting tribute to Navasota's impressive musicians, and recruited local artists to help in the creation of this epic mural. Russell is a local artist, historian and a blogger, and covers the arts and entertainment in the Brazos Valley for channel ABC40 in Bryan. Russell's works can be viewed at the French Market in downtown Navasota. He has done many murals throughout the region and monumental sculptures as well.
