Die Wallfahrtskirche Maria Hilf liegt in der Mitte des Ortes Klosterlechfeld im Landkreis Augsburg in Schwaben. Das 1984 aufwändig restaurierte Gotteshaus gilt als eine der bedeutendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten auf dem Lechfeld.
Die Wallfahrt geht auf eine Stiftung der Witwe des Augsburger Bürgermeisters Raimund von Imhof zurück. Regina von Imhof soll sich auf der Rückreise von Augsburg zu ihrem Schloss in Untermeitingen im dichten Nebel des Lechfelds verirrt haben. In ihrer Not gelobte sie den Bau einer Kapelle zu Ehren der Gottesmutter, um wieder auf den richtigen Weg zu gelangen.
Der Grundstein wurde am 7. April 1603 gelegt. Den Entwurf hatte der berühmte Augsburger Baumeister Elias Holl gezeichnet. Als Vorbild für den Sakralbau diente ihm Santa Maria Rotonda – das antike Pantheon in Rom. Das Deckengemälde in der Rotunde ist das Werk von Johann Georg Lederer aus Augsburg und zeigt die Heimsuchung Mariä. Auch die Wandgemälde im Chor stammen von ihm.
Alle sechs Bilder beziehen sich auf die Gottesmutter, die unter anderem als Schutzmantelmadonna, Helferin in Seenot und Schützerin vor Feuersbrunst, dargestellt wird. Der ursprünglichen Gnadenkapelle wurde 1656 im Westen das rechteckige Langhaus mit den runden Seitenkapellen angefügt.
Einzigartig auch die drei in den Jahren 1690/91 hinzugefügten Kuppeln als Sinnbild für die Dreifaltigkeit. Der heutige Hochaltar ist 1748 nach Entwürfen des Laienbruders Concordius Scheidenberger entstanden. Ausführender Meister war Dominikus Bergmüller aus Türkheim. Im Mittelpunkt steht das Gnadenbild. Christus ist als Richter dargestellt, dem der Erzengel Michael und die Muttergottes beigegeben sind.

The pilgrimage church of Maria Hilf is located in the center of the village of Klosterlechfeld in the district of Augsburg in Swabia. The Gotteshaus, which was extensively restored in 1984, is one of the most important sights on the Lechfeld.
The pilgrimage goes back to a foundation of the widow of the Augsburger mayor Raimund of Imhof. Regina of Imhof is said to have strayed in the dense fog of Lechfeld on the return journey from Augsburg to her castle in Untermeitingen. In her distress, she vowed to build a chapel in honor of the Mother of God to get back on the right path.
The foundation stone was laid on 7 April 1603. The famous Augsburg architect, Elias Holl, had drawn the design. Santa Maria Rotonda, the ancient Pantheon in Rome, served as a model for sacred architecture. The ceiling painting in the rotunda is the work of Johann Georg Lederer from Augsburg and shows the Visitation of Mary. The murals in the choir also come from him.
All six pictures refer to the Mother of God, which is presented, among other things, as a protective coat-of-arms, a helper in distress and a protector from conflagration. The original Gnadenkapelle was added in 1656 to the west, the rectangular long house with the round side chapels.
Also uniquely the three domes added in the years 1690/91 as a symbol for the Trinity. Today's Hochaltar was created in 1748 by the lay brother Concordius Scheidenberger. The master was Dominikus Bergmüller from Türkheim. The focus is the grace image. Christ is represented as a judge, to whom the Archangel Michael and the Mother Gods are attached.
