L'hotel est installé dans un des batiments annexe de la Corderie Royale.
Les batiments ont été construit entre 1666 et 1669. Pendant près de 200 ans les batiments ont servis à fabriquer les cordages des navires. L'activité a cessé vers 1867 et les divers batiments ont été reconvertis.
