Certains sites internet lui attribuent 1 000 trous de boulins : (visit link) , d'autre 2 000 : (visit link) . Son propriétaire, rencontré près du lavoir de la Pouge en 2012, parlait, lui, de 1 800. Gageons que cette dernière estimation soit la bonne, ce qui serait assez crédible vu la taille du pigeonnier.
Des silos à grains ont été installés à l'intérieur, ce qui rend aujourd'hui difficile le comptage exact.
Oigné, du gallo-romain Oniacus ou Onius était un fief qui appartenait en 1639 à Gueldemme de Durfort, marquis de Duras.
Ce type d'architecture souvent présente en Indre-et-Loire date majoritairement du XVIIème siècle.
