Penn State Disk 11 - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This Benchmark Waypoint represents one of three disks nearby to each other on the campus of Penn State University. The 3 disks are located South of the building known as Old Main off Pollock Road. The disks are labeled "The Pennsylvania State University", "Do Not Disturb", and are marked with the Numbers 11, 12, and 13.

The disk marked 11 is also marked with a small triangle. All three disks are located in the grass, and are set in concrete sleeves at ground level. All three disks are a shiny silver in color, and are presumed to be made of aluminum.

The three disks are located in the grass south of the steps of Old Main. They are located North of a horizontal sundial and two large flag poles located in the quad area.

It is possible the three disks are used as a triangulation station, but the disks are not marked as such so they will be considered individual marks. Disk 13 is located 4 paces south of disk 11, and disk 12 is located 5 paces norhteast from disk 11 (or 2 paces east, and 3 paces north).
