A large reef system that now sits above ground in Aliso Viejo. Many fossils can be found here even today.

The link is for an earthcache that was actually my first one I've completed nearly 10 years ago. I visited the site about a month ago while caching and grabbing these photos.


The main part of the reef can be found at the top of the hill. Here, fossils are imbedded in the rock that measure up to half a foot across. Look carefully and you can find ones still with shells attached. These fossils are dated about 7 million years old.
