Le Maréchal Turenne vint s'emparer de Turckheim alors aux mains des troupes impérialistes. La bataille eut lieu le 5 janvier 1675 et la victoire de Turenne ramena une nouvelle fois la cité de Turckheim au royaume de France. Les traités de Nimègue (1678) entérinèrent comme française cette nouvelle province.
Un obélisque de section triangulaire en grès rose commémore cette victoire de Turenne.
Couronné de la fleur de lys de la monarchie, l'obélisque porte le blason de Turenne (la Tour d’Auvergne).
Inauguré le 19 septembre 1932 par le général Weygand, chef d’état-major de l’armée française.

Marshal Turenne took possession of Turckheim, then in the hands of the imperialist troops. The battle took place on January 5, 1675, and the victory of Turenne brought the city of Turckheim once more to the kingdom of France. The treaties of Nijmegen (1678) ratified this new province as French.
An obelisk of triangular section in pink sandstone commemorates this victory of Turenne.
Crowned with the fleur-de-lys of the monarchy, the obelisk bears the coat of arms of Turenne (the Tour d'Auvergne).
Inaugurated on 19 September 1932 by General Weygand, Chief of Staff of the French Army.
