The Bamberg Rose Garden was designed in the style of an antique Roman garden. Part of the design are statues of Roman deities.

The Statue of Jupiter was sculpted by Royal sculptor Ferdinand Dietz in 1761.

Jupiter was king of the gods in Ancient Roman religion and mythology. He was the god of the sky and the god of thunder.
