Op het bordje staat het volgende:
Deze fietsoplaadboom maakt energie met behulp van zijn bladerdek van zonnecellen en is geschikt om uw elektrische fiets mee op te laden. Steek de oplader maar in één van de twee stopcontacten en laat de zon verder het werk doen!
De oplaadboom (die officieel Zero Emission Tree heet) is ontwikkeld door de Hogeschool Utrecht en is daarna aan de Universiteit Utrecht geschonken. Wij zijn blij dat deze duurzame boom vervolgens bij de Botanische Tuinen 'wortel heeft kunnen schieten'!

This bike charging tree creates energy with its leaves made of solar cells and is suitable to charge your e-bike. Just plug into one of the two outlets and let the sun do its work!
The Zero Emission Tree was developed by the Academy of Utrecht and was donated to the University of Utrecht afterwards. We are glad this durable tree was able to root at the Botanical Gardens.
