The Namoi River is notorious for its high flood levels & this structure is designed to withstand the speed & strength of flooding waters. Individual gauges extend to the river & a gauge on the Station shows the river can reach 13.9 metres & probably beyond. Information is collected electronically & can be read on the website listed below.
