Wearing Etel was, from the 30s to 60s, one of the largest fishing ports tuna of the Atlantic seaboard. You could see it up to 250 dundees (sailing tuna) which supplied 12 canneries in the region.
Today it is a marina with 450 afloat with electricity and water moorings for boats from 6 to 18 meters. Spaces are also reserved for visitors.

Etel is a small port on the river of that name, 4 km northwest of Erdeven. His name was formerly written Ectell; the people say Intel, and administering written Etel. The entrance to the inlet, which is its port, is closed by a rock and quicksand, called the bar Etel, and which allow access only to boats and ships to low tonnage. By 1891, fishing, and especially of sardines in summer, giving it great animation. The population of Étel, because of this industry, is considerable; it is in 1891 1926 inhabitants.
Le port d’Etel fut, des années 30 aux années 60, l’un des plus grands ports de pêche au thon de la façade atlantique. On pouvait y voir jusqu’à 250 dundees (thoniers à voile) qui alimentaient 12 conserveries de la région.
Aujourd’hui, c’est un port de plaisance doté de 450 places à flots avec eau et électricité pour des bateaux de 6 à 18 mètres. Des places sont aussi réservées aux visiteurs.
Histoire :
Étel est un petit port, situé sur la rivière de ce nom, à 4 kilomètres au nord-ouest d'Erdeven. Son nom a été jadis écrit Ectell ; le peuple prononce Intel, et l'administration écrit Étel. L'entrée du bras de mer, qui constitue son port, est fermée par un rocher et des sables mouvants, que l'on appelle la barre d'Étel, et qui ne permettent l'accès qu'aux barques et aux navires d'un faible tonnage. Vers 1891, la pêche, et surtout celle de la sardine en été, lui donne une grande animation. La population d'Étel, par suite de cette industrie, est considérable ; elle est en 1891 de 1926 habitants.
