The waymark coordinates are for the Camden Market on the Camden High Street. Camden Market is one of several outdoor markets that make camden a vibrant inner-ring city in Greater London.

In Australia, Camden is a suburb of the vibrant city of Sydney.

AROUND 50 towns and suburbs of NSW are related to places in England. Here we take at some of them - and see how they compare with their Australian counterparts.

You may know about Liverpool or Newcastle, but what about Penshurst and Holbrook?

What can you tell us about your town? Or have you visited the ‘sister’ town in the UK? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below...

CAMDEN
Camden, London: Not so much a suburb as a borough (council area), but resplendent with cultural life, especially around the weekend Camden markets. Cultural history abounds in former residents Charles Dickens and poet John Betjeman. Actor Glenda Jackson was a local MP for Labour from 1992 until just the other day.

Camden, NSW: Growing area on Sydney fringe, recently famous for trying to grow a platypus shape out of a market garden. John Macarthur, father of Australia’s wool industry, staked his claim here as well as on the former $2 note. Steven Bradbury, actual gold-medal-winning ice-skater and metaphor for winning by merely remaining upright, is a resident, similarly Professor Graeme Clark, inventor of the “bionic ear” (cochlear implant)." . . .
