At the Chester Harbour, immediately west of the Chester Yacht Club is a small park, in which this small monument was installed by the Norwegian government in 1994.

This granite stele stands directly across Peninsula Road from the larger Chester Cenotaph. The monument was erected in the park by the Norwegian government in thanks for the hospitality shown the Norwegian soldiers stationed in Chester during World War II.

Unveiling ceremonies took place on May 29, 1994. The monument consists of a straight sided granite stele about four feet in height, standing upon a low rectangular concrete base.
