If you are looking at the front of this classic building, you will find the original rotating barber pole located to the left of the windows. This building was built in 1940 before the great flood of Beaver Creek in 1943 and just barely survived the flood. It was built for Jessie Nicol for retail purposes. At one time this building was used as a US Army Recruiting Station for the city of Sparta. It was purchased and converted into the Captain's Corner in 1971 and has been serving Sparta, WI, USA ever since.
