This is a rough piece of stone, cut to form a peak, with the inscription scratched into the front. Accompanying the compass and square of the Freemasons is "B.W. Barton" and "B1816" and "D1884". Interestingly, this headstone is a footstone now, having been replaced at some point with a modern, gray granite headstone that has practically the same information as the original. Behind the original headstone appears to be the original sandstone footstone as well.
