Pießling-Ursprung - Natural Springs on Waymarking.com

Der Pießling-Ursprung liegt im Gemeindegebiet von Roßleithen bei Windischgarsten im Süden Oberösterreichs und wurde 1978 zum Naturdenkmal erklärt. Im Durchschnitt treten rund 2.200 Liter Wasser pro Sekunde aus der Quelle aus. Bei der Schneeschmelze oder bei starken Hochwässern können es bis zu 40.000 Liter pro Sekunde sein. Die Quelle wird von einem unterirdischen Entwässerungssystem aus weit verzweigten Hohlräumen und Sammeladern gespeist. Das Wasser stammt aus dem Warscheneck, wo es auf einer Fläche von etwa 95 km² im Kalkgestein versickert und unterirdisch zur Quelle fließt. Die an der Quelle entspringende Pießling mündet nach etwa sieben Kilometern in die Teichl.

The Pießling-Ursprung lies in the municipality of Roßleithen Windischgarsten in southern Upper Austria, and in 1978 declared a natural monument. On average, around 2,200 liters of water per second comes out of the spring. When the snow melts or when strong floods there can be up to 40,000 liters per second. The spring is fed by an underground drainage system of ramified cavities and collecting veins. The water comes from the Warscheneck where it seeps in limestone in an area of about 95 km². The water flows underground to the spring. The Pießling flows after about seven kilometers into the river Teichl.
