Grandzella's is a big Italian restaurant that is famous far beyond the city limits.

Opened in 1976, Grandzella's has been a popular rest stop for people traveling along Northern California's highway 5 for decades.

On October 11, 2007, a fire destroyed large parts of the iconic building and the news about it spread fast across Northern California.

After ten months of reconstruction, the restaurant re-opened in August 2008.

An article in the Lake County Record Bee covered the fire extensively.

You can read that article at or Newspaper Article waymark.

The pictures at this site are enlarged pieces of a display inside the restaurant.
